A visit to the royal castle in Krakow

This morning started off very damp and quite cold, and Val and I wrapped up accordingly. She had hurt her back, and so I volunteered to carry all her stuff, which wasn’t a problem because there wasn’t very much.

We had a ticket that allowed us access to the second level of the castle from 9:30 in the morning. On arrival, we quickly found our way there, and it was really worthwhile. The following pictures show some of the stuff that we saw.

This is just a small percentage of the wonderful artwork that had been accumulated by the royal family, but once we’d finished, we left the castle and decided to walk to a place called Florian’s Gate. On the way, we found a rather nice Ukrainian restaurant where we ate dumplings, drank honey vodka (which was superb),  followed by ice cream.

The rest of the afternoon has been filled by window shopping and buying pointless things. Lol

Later in the afternoon we went to the restaurant across the road from our hotel and had a delicious meal along with a flight of different vodkas and red wine

In the morning we will be heading home🙂
