Today I went to see a friend in hospital. He had in the last few days had major surgery to remove cancer on the right hand side of his neck. This involved removing his voice box and putting something in its place. I was amazed to find him sitting in a corridor in Addenbrookes hospitalContinue reading “Anthony O’Farrell”

Hamnet
Today Val and I went to a matinee of Hamnet. I loved “Shakespeare in Love” which came out in 1998. Val’s never seen it…… I’ll correct that. It’s one of my favourite films ever. I didn’t know what to expect. I was immediately impressed by the way it had been filmed but was a littleContinue reading “Hamnet”

Our Open Christmas
Val and I finished our stint at the King’s Centre at 2pm. It was a worthwhile but tiring time. I spent most of my time on the front door meeting and greeting incoming people. They came from all walks of life and it was a worthwhile experience.

See Norwich Open Christmas – Home https://share.google/cY7USB2aYD09lERHZ I’ll be doing the welcome at the door and Val will be helping plate up food….A very responsible job. We aim to feed around 4-500 people. We are also able to letContinue reading “Our planned Christmas Day”
Merry Christmas
It’s David Garrett’s 74th birthday today.
Many years ago I was at St John’s College in Cambridge with David. We were both members of the choir and boarded at the school attached to the college on Grange road. David’s family lived in Papworth Everard. David and I were close and on the odd weekend when we had a day off DavidContinue reading “It’s David Garrett’s 74th birthday today.”
